• The Big Curtz and the other Cursiveres wear decorated archivist robes
• What is one Cursivere correcting the Big Curtz about, in panel 1
• Cornelius doesn’t know what a “pictogenetic designation” is; it’s a controversial identification code used on Imperial Midirian travel passes, that alludes to the aesthetic inspirations from which the character is drawn (Cornelius’s would be TINARCHITIN, Bromance’s would be ATRUNYUSK)
• Theon and Dandelflower reappear, incapacitating Eldlyfe

• The border sign references passage 4.1 in the Sacred Testament
• Cursiveres have large eyes and sensitive ears, from long periods of reading and quiet study

• The attendant at the Totsuvosto terminal at Elixiry Station (Northern Midiria) is inspired by George Wendt as Norm Petersen from the TV show Cheers
• The attendant motions Zaz to the alley behind the station, possibly because he can tell she is lying to him
• A sign in the back of the station reads “If You Don’t Like Us, Try The Next Province”, and there is graffiti of YLYL (“You Laugh You Lose”, the Gravers’ motto)
• Tribb, the Shoadomite, takes away a year of Zaz’s life in exchange for two travel passes

• Quiatas finally says Refusaleth’s name?

• From the mountains of Midiria, the moons of the Beyonding appear close enough to touch, like the twin moons of Yotaton visible in panels 1 and 6
• Zaz tricked Cornelius into thinking she ejected him from the cloudswatter in the previous strip, using his terror and anxiety to charge the “tension cannons” (panel 9 of #261), repelling the sky sliggan

• Steptung has some sort of electric whip (panels 2-)
• Panel 6 has a close-up of the surface of a sky sliggan- it is covered with knife points
• Zaz suddenly kicks Cornelius out of the cloudswatter because he’s “adding too much hot air”?
• Panel 9 shows the size difference between the cloudswatter and the head of the sky sliggan

• Clockwork automatons similar to Waywardo are visible at the top of panel 3- carrying black paint and a brush?
• Nefaria is Karbunkel’s mother? How could that be possible, unless childbirth is not necessarily physical in the Beyonding? Perhaps it can be done by belief alone?
